Lector training |
|
Douglas has an approach to lector training like no other. He combines his years of experience as a professional actor and director with his ministry as a liturgist and his work as a consultant and trainer to turn ordinary “readers” into real “proclaimers,” an approach he outlines in his book, Stop Reading and Start Proclaiming! The goal of training is not to make lectors into actors or have them go “over the top,” but to teach very specific proclamation techniques that will give lectors the confidence and skills they need to fully proclaim to the community “a word that will rouse them.” Lectors leave renewed and reinvigorated for their ministry, with practical skills they can put to use right away. All presentations are modified based on the available time, needs of the community, and skill level of the participants. Even experienced lectors, however, will benefit from a presentation of basic skills. Douglas has trained lectors at churches and dioceses nationwide. Contact Douglas to discuss your specific needs.
